On offer is a range of water sports, from the sensational to the sedate, to suit every age, preference and ability level. Choose from scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, parasailing, jet ski rentals, submarine tours... and more!
Whether you're an experienced diver or a family of first-time snorkelers, the memories of swimming amongst these graceful giants will stay with you long after you surface. Be forewarned, however, one trip to Stingray City is but a prelude to another, and another, and another. Cayman Snorkeling Adventures
A great family activity, snorkeling provides a bird's eye view of the mysteries and beauty of our underwater world. If you have never snorkeled before, you'll be surprised at how easy it is to master the skills required and at how snorkeling opens up a whole new world to observe and enjoy. Any watersports operator on all three Cayman Islands would be happy to help you master the basics and will also recommend the best spots to snorkel. You won't have to go far from shore to find spectacular sites. On Grand Cayman, just south of George Town, try snorkeling off Coconut Harbour, Eden Rock, Sunset House, Seaview Hotel (closed since Hurricane Ivan), Paradise Reef and the wreck of the Cali. Other popular sites include Smith Cove and Cemetery Reef in West Bay.
One of Cayman Brac's most popular snorkel sites is off Buccaneer's Beach on the north coast, a pristine area boasting shallow and breathtaking underwater scenery. Little Cayman's South Hole Sound and Point O'Sand also have huge appeal. Be Your Own Skipper! A fun, safe and hugely exhilarating adventure lies in store for those who want a snorkel excursion with a difference. Various boat rental services empower you to skipper your own speedy motorboat to some of the least-known snorkel spots on the south coast of Grand Cayman, guided by a professional with in-depth knowledge of the underwater landscape.
Sailing into the sunset Chartering a sail boat offers a particularly peaceful and private way to experience the ocean blue. Several operators offer a flexible range of sunset and dinner sails, for groups from two to 20 people. You could also charter a boat to go scuba diving or snorkeling. Alternatively, if sailing is your passion, you could go beyond the reef and circumnavigate the island. Red Baron Charters are among those who also offer the option of doing an extended charter to the Sister Islands or the southern cruising grounds of Cuba. Red Sail Sports are another possibility, offering the choice of three large, luxury catamarans which do lunch snorkel trips to Stingray City, romantic dinner sails and memorable sunset sails, departing from three locations around Grand Cayman. Yet another route is offered by some members of the Cayman National Watersports Association who, as native Caymanian captains, know the waters around all three islands like the back of their sun-bronzed hands. Call Xanax Sailing Cruises or Crosby's Watersports who offer their sailboats for personalised charters.

Semi-submersibles
A spacious and comfortable semi submarine offers a great way to witness our underwater world and to keep dry at the same time. On your undersea tour, you will be able to see thriving coral reefs and a wreck slumbering near the shore. You'll also get a sense of the grandeur of the Cayman Wall and, with the help of a diver who hand-feeds fish at your window, you'll be able to marvel at our marine life.
The Deepest Dive If space travel appeals to you for the new frontiers it traverses, then why not invert your imagination... and think deep, 1,000 feet below the surface of the sea? Atlantis Submarine Adventures offers the possibility to enter a world few have seen where vast underwater landscapes lie, unexplored and inhabited by mysterious deep-sea creatures which seek out the cold, dark depths. Only two guests and a pilot ensures a personalized tour which you can record, thanks to a huge viewport and powerful lights which illuminate the brilliant colors on your journey of discovery. |
